unable to find a link to an OEM Win8 core, buil 9200, like the one my laptop was built with, I went ahead and bought the Acer recovery flashdrive, which I was assured by the Acer tech, could install my laptop with a new HDD just like it was manufactured originally.
The install went almost to the end of the fresh install to my new HDD, but stayed on the loop at the final 57th/58 of the apps install, an app called cleanup, and it does not let work in the Task Manager, the Control Panel, or into the Explorer, though all those icons or links are visible.
After shutting down which is supposed to close all apps, when I restart and log in, the install screen comes back on that app and all those problems are still there.
Before I bought the flashdrive from Acer, they told me that if I had any probems with it, they would help me with it, but now they refuse to help at all, on account of my laptop being out of warranty, although the help I need is with this new flashdrive I just bought from them!
Anyone has had this problem with the flashdrive bought from the Acer store?
And do they take it back for refund?
Also, it installed tons of software, but since I cannot get into the Control Panel, I cannot uninstall anything.
If I can't return the flashdrive to Acer for refund, is it possible to extract the plain Win8 image from that flashdrive, and use that to create a new install flashdrive that would install only Win8, nothing else? (I would reinstall the laptop drivers manually)
