Second monitor on Aspire ZS600

Just joined.  Looking for some specific info.

 

With the appearance of just barely affordable 4K (or at least close) monitors, I would like to add one to my ZS600 for detailed graphics work.  There is an HDMI out port, but before I shell out a still fairly budget thwacking amount on such a monitor, I want to know if the built in graphics capability of this all-in-one machine will be able to do anything with it.  I know the refresh rate need to be ratcheted down to be able to run with the limited bandwidth of current HDMI, but it is not clear whether the graphics controller on this thing can do even that.  The advanced graphics properties seem to recognize nothing greater than 1080 under any conditions.

 

Has anyone had experience with this kind of thing?

I've recently picked up an Apire ATC-105 (AMD A10-6700 with the HD8670D graphics) for home, and hooked up the Dell P2815Q monitor.

The monitor went to 3840x2160 on a DisplayPort with a desktop at work, without a blink or hitch. The AMD site says the HD8670 in my ACER motherboard will go to 3840x2160 over HDMI 1.4 (30 Hz), but I'm not having any luck. I got a high-speed HDMI 1.4 cable. I did not try HDMI on the machine at work.

I'd be thrilled to hear a definitive answer on if I need to get another graphics card, or if there is someway to get the full 4K with the on-board graphics card.
