External monitor overpowers wireless adapter Iconia W3

Have decent wireless signal on my Iconia W3 talbet running Windows 8. Without moving the computer, I plug in an external monitor via the mico-HDMI port and the wireless internet does immediatley stops working.

I recently installed the wireless driver bios flash update and this did improve wireless internet reception.  I have changed the power settings for the wireless card to be unrestricted with output at 100%.

 

Any ideas on how to solve this?

 

I have a wired ethernet adapter for mico-USB, but it is unreliable with DNS errors or limited connectivity. Would much prefer to use wireless for this reason.

I'm far from being an expert but I'd try moving the tablet around and see if the signal comes back.  There should be no connection between hdmi and wireless, thus I'd guess there might be something blocking the signal that is related to the hdmi cable/monitor.

 

If this does not help I think I'd seek service or replacement if it is new.  Hopefully someone with better info will drop by soon.
