Revo 70 (RL70) Wireless not working on Windows 8.1

After having upgraded my RL70 to Windows 8.1 it has lost it's wireless capabilities. Neither of the two wireless devices will pick-up a signal.

The WLAN (wireless chip) on this machine is a Realtek RTL8192DE-VC.

They install OK and show as enabled in Devive Manager, but show as not connected in Windows settings (no network discovery/signal).

The Windows 8.1 upgrade will install "Microsoft" drivers which don't seem to work.  And the drivers I tried off the ACER download pages will not install on Windows 8.1.

The wired adapter works fine, but I would really like to get the wireless side working properly.

Any help out there?

Go to Change PC Settings-> Networks-> check if the WiFi is enabled or not. The WiFi option should have a green mark on it.

In Windows 8.1 NETWORK settings mine simply shows WiFi as "Not Connected".  Other than for "Properties" I cannot drill down any further to find any thing that allows me to connect.

I'm sure this must be driver thing.

Does anyone out there have a RL70 running WiFi on Windows 8.1?  If so, what drivers are you using?

I sometimes have this problem too, try shutting off and removing the power, then start the computer again. If anyone has a better solution, i'd be interested to hear it too.
