Rotten Repair Experience

This is vent since Acer won't/can't do anything.

 

I have a real problem with Acer repair service.   7-10 business days for laptop repair is generously slow to begin with but Acer is not transparent even with that timeframe.

 

Knowing of the backlog for Acer Repair I scheduled my return with Acer to arrive on a Monday.  

 

The repair I'm currently waiting on was booked into repair on Tuesday morning of the 28th.

 

I'm now looking at next Tuesday before a technician will look at the laptop, 15 days after it arrived for Repair.  I've been advised that if it needs parts and they aren't in stock that it will be even longer.

 

Does anyone consider this acceptable?!  I certainly don't.

    Par for the course, unfortunately.

     

    Any company I have every worked with is like this. The time doesn't begin until it is in a technicians hands, and wil last for several days thereafter.

     

    5 years ago, You could lose a computer for several months until they were repaired. It is a slow process. Even once they diagnose the problem, they have to wait for the parts to arive, install them, move them to shipping, and send them out.

     

    One thing you should never, ever do is buy a computer from WalMart to use in the meantime and return it within the 30 day return policy.
