win7 bluescreen issue

i've been having a bluescreen randomly for the entire month of january. at first i thought it was due to a new game i was alpha testing (because it happened most often when that game was running, or after i had to force it to shut down (alt-f4 or killing the process in the task manager).

 

after working with the game's support to try and stop the bluescreens involved with the game and it not fixing the issue. i tried to do a system restore to before january (couldnt find my removable HD with the image) so i did a file backup(my documents, my pictures, my music) and a factory reset instead.

 

i havnt reinstalled the game i was alpha testing or most of the programs i had previously. but i just got another bluescreen

Researching your error on a few websites has brought up an error with graphics. The 3b error (from Microsoft's site) :

 

3b is usually a graphic's driver (display adapter/video driver), other possibilities include
but are not limited to antivirus/antispyware/security programs and even memory (mapping).

 

Cause

This error has been linked to excessive paged pool usage and may occur due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing bad data to the kernel code.

 

You may like to try reinstalling your AV software, and performing a mem test, to check that your RAM is OK, but the graphics may be at fault.

 

So basically, if you have a graphics card, then replace it with another - this should solve the problem. If you use onboard graphics, then I'd suggest to buy a graphics card, and use that instead.
