This computer is receiving the following message when trying to boot up the machine.

 

Your PC needs to be repaired
The boot configuration data file is missing some required information
file :\BCD 
error code: 0xc0000000f

you'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. if you don't have any installation media (like a disc or usb device), contact your system administrator or pc manufacturer.

press esc for uefi firmware settings
when i bought my laptop, windows 8 was already installed and i did not get any installation disc.

 

The problem is that this is the only screen that will come up no matter what button I push.  F2 is the one that is supposed to bring up a boot menu but it only comes up with the previously mentioned screen.  I have the recovery media ready to go, but I can't get it to recognize the drives.

If you are unable to start recovery or get into the BIOS, you probably have a bad hard drive or hardware problem. I would call Acer and see if they can repair it.
