I am trying to decide on a new laptop. i really like the acer v5-571p-6473. i want touchscreen, i5, dvd-r/w, and 8 gb of memory.  i can sacrifice size to get a hybrid drive in another brand. how much benefit is a hybrid drive? does it speed boot? do any models of yours have them?  also with the computer do i need dedicated video memory?

    do you mean ssd drive??

it's much faster than regular hdd

not only it will shorten the boot up time, it loads programs faster too.

also, ssd uses less power, that means you get longer battery life.

i beleive some high end ultrabook come with ssd drive, ex, s3, s5, s7

the onboard video card should be able to handle most basic tasks,

but if you want to play 3d games or need to work on video files, then you probably want to buy a notebook with dedicated video card.
