Hello. I have quite a simple and rare problem with my Aspire 725-0600 netbook. When I turn on the netbook, most of the times the mousepad will work by it's more simple tasks, that is, just moving the cursor, and both left-right buttons. But all the other complex functions like the gestures and the middle wheel function for vertical/horizontal scrolling are all missing, the icon of scrolling (those black bars that appear when you use it, don't appear). Then I close the netbook to put it on sleep state, and when I turn it on again, all the functions of the mousepad are available now. When they are not, the little icon in the tray appears with a warning yellow triangle (Fig. 1) in the same way a driver looks when it's conflicting/damaged in the Device Manager. If I right-click with the mouse on the tray icon and enter in "Property of Touch-Pad", and go to the "ELAN" tab, everything is grayed out (Fig. 2), like the PC isn't detecting the Elantech mousepad (the actual brand of the pad itself), when it should clearly show the mousepad, being detected by the driver (Fig. 3). Despite of this, (being the options grayed out or not), the device manager will always show the device itself (listed under the category "Mice and other pointing devices", as "ELAN PS/2 Port Smart-Pad")(Fig. 4).
This started when I installed a brand new graphic tablet. At least that's what I thought because I uninstalled the driver of the tablet thinking this was the conflict but I still get this strange bug. And of course I tried too uninstalling/installing the mousepad driver more than twice, using Revo Uninstaller. Does this happened to somebody else? perhaps in another Asus model or another Elantech mousepad?.
I put a cap. with my system info (Fig. 5). I appreciate if anyone has a tip or advice. Tell me too if you need more info or need to ask questions, anything. Thanks.
