Boot Flash doesn't work after black screen

Aspire V5-122P-0468. During start, "Acer:explore beyond limits" screen appears then screen goes black. Purchased restore USB flash. After following directions and selecting boot from USB HDD, the Acer msg appears again followed by the spinning circle underneath, then the screen goes black again. Any suggestions?

    It sounds like the hard disk in the system may have failed. What was the computer doing before you tried to recover with USB drive? You may want to contact Acer service in your region to inquire about repair service.
