acer aspire v5-431p-21174g50mass laptop touch not working

in 2014 Archives

as in title, please help, its a brand new laptop, and i couldnt be bothered sending it back for repairs.

 

i did a clean insyall of windows 8.1 pro, with all drivers installed.

still no luck

    Hi windgrain

     

    I'm unsure from your post, that when you did a "Clean Install" did you change from Windows 8 to 8.1? Some hardware is not fully compatible with 8.1, so I'd suggest to revert back to 8.0, using your recovery partition or media.

     

    If you genuinely believe your laptop is faulty, and it's still under warranty, then it really needs to be returned for a repair. Depending on where you bought it from, their exchange policy may alloy you to swap it for another one - but this is unlikely. Just remember, that if it is 8.1 causing the problem, they may only revert back to 8.0 anyway!

    Already did that, no luck. is there a driver for the touch screen?

    When you reverted back to 8.0, the correct driver will have already been installed. You can check the Acer support site for your region (under "Drivers & Manuals") to see if there is an updated driver, but if this fails to work, it will need to be returned for repair!

    thanks for the assist, ill just use it as a windows 7 pc without touch. thanks anyway
