Aspire 7750G can't recognize empty DVD+rw

Hi

I got an aspire 7750 G with a DVD super Multi DL drive. When I recently wanted to burn a few files on a empty DVD I noticed that my laptop didn't recognize the DVD. First I thought the problem was with the burning manager so I tried another one but still it didn't recognize the DVD. I also tried another empty DVD but it wouldn't recognize this one either.

Does someone know how to solve my problem? (If I use a not empty DVD there are no problems)

Thanks

PS sorry for my bad English

    Hello!

I once knew somebody who had the same problem with a desktop PC. It turned out the optical drive was really fussy on which disks were being used!

If the disk you have is a +R or +RW then change to a -R or -RW or vice versa. Sometimes certain makes may not work in your drive too, so you may have to try a few different types to see what works for you!

If you still can't get it working, the drive itself may be at fault, and will need replacing.

This MIGHT work. I had the same problem, but I solved it with a System Restore. The next day it wouldn't work again, and I used System Restore. There was one specific Windows Update that caused the problem. I barred that update from being installed, and the problem disappeared.
