Hallo,

I would like to connect an USB stick to my Acer Iconia B1 A71. I already have a cable converting the USB plug on the tablet into a standard USB plug e.g. for USB sticks. This connection works fine with my Galaxy S2 but it does not work with the tablet.

In some messages I read that the Iconia B1 A71 doesn't have an USB host. Is this a software or hardware functionality?

My question is now: Does anybody now how to connect an USB stick to the Acer Iconia B1 A71?

The Acer Android tablets do not support USB host function, so USB sticks will not work with them. You can transfer files to them using a USB connection to a Windows computer or by putting the data on an appropriate SD card.
