I just bought a new T232HL touch-screen monitor after much research. Competition was Samsung C770.
Installed it and it is glorious!
Went to work on a spreadsheet on it for about 1/2 hour and then closed the spreadsheet.
Its image remained on the screen though. Residuals of all the desktop icons are also clearly visible when they are moved.
Worked with the monitor a little switching between computers and found this monitor to have the worst image persistence problem I have ever seen. I have notified Amazon that I will be returning it.
It's a real shame because I would really like to keep it!
My company is an Acer reseller and we have dealt with acer monitors and laptops over the years and I have never seen this problem.
I know the tricks for minimizing the problem (screen saver, reduce brightness, etc.), but are there other possible causes?
1. Can a display adapter "over drive" a monitor? (Problem seems less on one of two HP workstations with different adapters.)
2. Do you have recommended display adapters?
3. Does multiple monitor setup affect?
4. Are there any monitor settings that will minimize?
Talked with Acer Chat Support, but their knowledge level (or what they are allowed to say) was very limited. (I was asked what I meant by "image persistence".)
Can I get a perspective from an Acer engineer?
Are there later models where the problem has been ameliorated in this IPS monitor? (I was suspicious that Amazon's unbelievable $299 price might be for an earlier, superceded model.)
Thanks for your help!
