8.1 has bricked keyboard, p3-171

Hi guys,

Upgraded to windows 8.1 almost straight away (as was required by facebook app), but this caused the keyboard to stop working.

On the website it says that "cradle drivers" should be installed before upgrading to 8.1, but obviously we hadn't done that.

Phoned Acer support and they said the only option is to revert to windows 8 using the recovery partition.

Surely there's a simpler solution to what's basically a driver issue! I've applied the updates retrospectively but has has no effect.

Thanks in advance!

Laurence

    Problem Solved!

She installed Office 2007 a couple of days after installing 8.1, then office received an update the next day. The office update somehow fixed the keyboard problem!

Just one of those things I suppose.

    Hi Laurence

If you've applied the updates retrospectively but this didn't have any effect, then I'm inclined to agree with support. The only way around this is to revert back to 8.0, install the cradle driver, then update to 8.1.
