I have been asked to fit a 3TB Western Digital motherboard to a AX3910.

I have run the recovery disks which copied the files onto the drive then the machine reboots to run the final setup stage of the install but says windows has failed and gives the usual options to try previous known, safe mode or safe mode with network, none of these work, the machine reboots and returns to the same screen, it does not progress through the usual windows setup to finalize the install.

I have tried cloning the disk from the original disk. Partitioning to 2TB (which the recovery disks do anyway) and

I have spoken to Western Digital who advise to run the drive diagnostics program, which I am doing at the moment and format the drive. They have also asked if the motherboard is compatible with drives of 3TB. I have searched via Google but can not find the answer to this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My understanding of the Acer recovery media is to not create any partitions at all when running it, if that was done before running them. What error message is it giving you, other than Windows has failed?
