T272HL lost touch

Hi

 

I have a brand new T272HL monitor fully connected to a Toshiba Satellite touchscreen laptop running Windows 8.1.  All the latest drivers for Windows 8.1 and the laptop are installed, and I always ensure that the monitor is turned on before the laptop.

 

I have had trouble getting the monitor to consistently run as a touch screen, in fact I have only had it work a couple of times briefly.  It won't work at all now as a touch screen, but works fine as a display monitor.

 

I have this beautiful new monitor that I cannot use as a touch screen even though this was the reason I purchased it.  I would very much appreciate someone's advice on how to get it work consistently as a (second) touch screen off the laptop.

Do you have the USB cable attached to the system?

 

Is Windows identifying the monitor properly?

Do you have the current driver for the monitor installed?

 

Do you have any error messages?
