Can I use a solar charger on my iconia a100.

I will be in the wilds for a few weeks and need to take my tablet with me. I'll be using it for topographic maps, research material, etc. I would like to take a solar kit with me for charging. My tablet requires 12v 1.5a power adapter. I can get a 12v solar kit with 1amp output. Will this work? I understand it will trickle charge and take awhile, but no problem there. I can leave it out during the day and will use it at night in the tent.

Thank you in advance.

Sounds reasonable, PS is sized to be able to charge a ded battery AND run the tablet. Key is on a bright bay does the charge light come on when connected ?

Now if someone (Acer ?) would just provide/sell a car charge for the W510, or even just a power connector pinout I could try also.

    padgett,

Thanks for the quick response. I thought the same thing about the PS, so I think I'm good to go. I found a nice solar kit for $80 that is backpackable ( Goal Zero 12301 Nomad 7M @ 12.6 oz ) I'll give it a try.
