New to the forum and puzzled by my monitor (ACER G205HV)

Hello, I'm new to the forum and have searched for an answer to my question but haven't found one yet.

I'm a bit puzzled by the specs on my monitor, an ACER G205HV, which is supposed to use a VESA 100mm x 100mm mount.  I can see the holes in the manual that comes with the monitor but there are no such holes on my actual monitor.  I can see faint markings (circles) where I guess the holes should be, but they're not actually there.

Am I supposed to drill these holes in myself?

That is quite odd.  The VESA mount holes should be pre-drilled and provide access to the screw bases for the mount.
