I do not know specifically what would cause the voice not to work in Navigation. I have read posts in other forums that having bluetooth enabled, could cause problems with the voice. You could try turning off bluetooth to see if it helps. Also, there are many third party navigation apps available through the play store. You could try downloading and using a different navigation app to see if that helps.

I have never used the navigation app ( the Google pre installed one ) in my Acer Iconia A1-81 so on seeing this post I decided to try it, it works perfectly and when I enter a destination and select the suggested route the voice kicks in. After reading Acer Blayn's suggestion I enabled Bluetooth and tried again, the app worked perfectly and with voice directions so it would appear that Bluetooth on or off makes little difference.

Are you using the stock Google maps navigation app the icon for which is the blue arrow ?

Did you have a device paired when bluetooth was enabled?

Paired the tablet with my Bluetooth speaker and launched my music player, whilst listening to music I launched the navigation app, selected a destination, chose the route and selected start, voice from navigation app came through Bluetooth speaker as music was playing so looks like Bluetooth connection did not affect voice function on the app.
