New Acer V5-572G with Atheros AR5BWB222 card - Driver Version 10.0.0.234

WiFi conntection is extremely slow. Ping 22ms, Down 0.57 Mbps, Up 11.64 Mbps. Power Management is turned off. Bluetooth is disabled.

Another older Dell laptop connection to the same Belkin router gets 11.15 Down & 6.83 Up.

When conntecting the Acer to ethernet cable Ping24ms, 59.36 Down, 11.80 Up.

Tried deleting and reinstalling the Atheros driver.

Any suggestions on how to improve the WiFi speed. Almost unuseable as is. Thanks!

For the V5-572G, I'm showing the following versions available on our Drivers page:

    Windows 8:

    Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 10.0.0.225

    Windows 8.1:

    Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 10.0.0.263

Without knowing what OS you are running, I can only recommend attempting to update to one of the drivers listed above for the OS on your system.

Thanks. OS is Windows 8. But current Atheros Wireless LAN Driver is 10.0.0.234 - came installed with new Acer laptop. So it sounds like I I should roll back to 10.0.0.225 - is that correct?

    Appreciate your help.

The version you have installed should encompass anything that would be in previous versions.

I would not want you to install an older version, only to continue to have an issue and then need to go back to the .234 version.  Although in that instance, it is always possible to roll-back or return the system to factory defaults.
