Upgrading my Acer Aspire 6930 - which model?

Hi!

I have a 5 year old Acer Aspire 6930, and I think the time has come for me to get a new machine. However, I'm really happy with the PC I have now, and (if possible) I'd like to get a similar model. Could you tell me which series is the continuation of mine, and maybe suggest which model would be the best for me (bearing in mind that the speed of my current model is actually fine for most things I do)?

Thanks!

I'm not going to be able to make a specific recommendation for you.  I can tell you that the present series of Acer notebook models do not directly correspond to previous models.

Your system, for everyone's reference, is similar to:

    Acer Aspire AS6930-6073

    Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.40GHz)

    4GB Memory

    320GB HDD

    16.0" NoteBook

    Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

    Weight 7.5 lbs

Most systems should, at this point, be over and above the specifications for that system.

They should also be thinner and lighter with better battery life.  It's really going to come down to what you are wanting in a new system ... same size or smaller screen?  storage capacity?  optical media?
