Can't reinstall drivers after Win8.1 update

Hi there, have updated to windows 8.1 from the appstore, system became incredibly slow and many programmed does not respond often. Checked online, seems to be the problem of intel's vga driver and nvidia's driver. So deleted them, but the point is I cannot reinstall or update these two drivers, either by downloading from acer's support page, or by windows update. Always got error messages such as 88705B4 for windows update, or time out expired if use windows "have file" installation. can someone help?

aspire v3 571g, i7 3610 qm core

out of factory with windows 7 installed, updated to windows 8 without any problem. The 8.1 update is driving me crazy. Thanks

If you are having issues with the Windows 8.1 update, you may wish to return to the shipping operating system for the computer. If you had no issues in Windows 8, you may also want to upgrade to it again.

Thanks but the idea is to aviod reinstalling the factory settingsa s many things need to be backup and install/reinstall. I do not have any issues with 8.0 (upgraded from 7.0 as shipping system). And also I don't think I am the only one who has experienced a dramatic slow down of performance, as there are many complains about similar issues. Any particular driver that you think may cause the problem?

Jean, the fact that you can still get into your computer shows that your situation isn't hopeless. I am opposed to changing the operating system on a laptop, but since you did it anyway, go to IObit.com and download their free driver finder. On one of my computers, it found seven drivers that Windows had missed.

When you change operating systems, you delete your drivers and are running on generic drivers. However, if you are set to automatically install Windows updates and new drivers, your computer will steadily improve over time.
