I seem to have exactly the same issue as this "Archived" post:

Does anyone have any answeres to his questions?

Here is the original post (my notes are marked with >)

--------------

I have an Acer One D257 that won't boot.

The battery charges to full and I can use either it or the power cord.

If I press the power button the cpu fan engages for three seconds and then stops, then nothing else happens.

Removing either the memory and/or the hard drive has no impact on this.

Plugging into an external monitor (and with all hardware intact) doesn't display anything.

Holding Fn and Esc while powering on causes the power LED to flash on and off, but the screen remains black.

I'd flash the BIOS but while there are BIOS downloads for this model, none of them include the Flash it.exe program and I'm not sure of what name to give the file on the flash drive.  There is no documentation for this particular model, that I can find, for flashing the BIOS.

My questions are:

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

To flash the BIOS, what name does the file need on the USB drive, and do I need any other files, such as Flash it.exe?
