My 1350 aspire will not switch on. Inline charger/mains light is on. There is no light or noise coming from the laptop.

I am hoping that perhaps a fuse has blown inside.

Any suggestions on this please?

Alg, there is more than one possible cause, so there is more than one possible solution. Here are two free solutions that MIGHT work:

Turn off your machine, unplug it, and remove the battery. Hold the power button on for tsixty seconds, put it back together, and try again. This method works 10% of the time.

Try to borrow a legal copy of your operating system on a DVD. Insert the DVD and reboot. MAYBE it will take you to a repair screen.

If neither method works, I advise you to take it to a reputable computer shop.

There is no internal fuse in the 1350.

If your power mode LED is not lit:
If you have a test meter, check the PSU to confirm it is working correctly.
Should the PSU check OK, then possible causes noted in the service guide are CPU and/or motherboard failure.
However, it could also be something relatively trivial such as power jack failure or cracked track.

If your power mode LED is lit (green):
Confirm that your DVD drive is empty.
Check that your RAM is seated correctly.
