hello i want to ask, I have a little problem on the computer drivers. I have an acer aspire z5710 (all in one PC). yesterday I upgraded the OS to Windows 8 without installing any drivers, all went smoothly. but if I run a game or 3d software programs, graphics running slow, probably because I have not installed the NVIDIA driver. then I download NVIDIA drivers for gt 240m windows 8 64bit from the NVIDIA official website, and tried to install it, and the result is "NVIDIA installer can not continue, this graphics driver cloud not find compatible graphics hardware". these things I experienced while trying to upgrade the NVIDIA drivers in windows 7. and I tried this tutorial nvidia forum https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/513621/installer-cannot-continue-the-graphics-driver-could-not-find-compatible-graphics-hardware-installer-/ and succeed in windows 7, but can not in windows 8. what should I do?

Please see this helpful article: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26985/

This may allow you to install the drivers.  Please keep in mind this is not a model supported by Acer for the Windows 8 upgrade.

Hello Acer-Travis, thank you for replying to my question, and I've tried the solution you gave, but I did not find the video menu in the bios. I am using bios version P01.B0. until now I can not use 3D software, and play HD movies. but I am very grateful you've helped my problem.

I managed to install NVIDIA 314.07 installed for my Acer Z5710 (all-in-one PC) by following this guide by Kapley:

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/513621/installer-cannot-continue-the-graphics-driver-could-not-find-compatible-graphics-hardware-installer-/

There's also this youtube video based on the Kapley guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG4S1An96CM

It is not the easiest guide to follow, so I'll try to write the important steps that I took.

With the device id strings taken from my own Z5710 that has onboard GT 240M.

So the exact lines below will not work if you have some other Acer PC.

Look in this path (after your first install attempt fails):

    C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\314.07\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver

I only edited these two files in the above directory:

      nvacn.inf

    and

      ListDevices.txt

    Within nvacn.inf,

    I added this line:

    %NVIDIA_DEV.0A34.01% = Section018, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A34&SUBSYS_02971025

    within the [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0] section

    I added this line:

    %NVIDIA_DEV.0A34.01% = Section016, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A34&SUBSYS_02971025

    within the [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] section

    I added this line:

    %NVIDIA_DEV.0A34.01% = Section017, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A34&SUBSYS_02971025

    within the [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2] section

    I added this line:

    NVIDIA_DEV.0A34.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M -kaon"

    within the [Strings] section

    Within ListDevices.txt,

    I added this line:

DEV_0A34&SUBSYS_02971025 "NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M -kaon"

under the other lines that mention the 240M.

After saving the changes to the above two files, you can run the setup.exe located in:

    C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\314.07\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International

I do not know if any of the above lines are redundant, but the above steps worked for my Z5710 AIO PC (GT 240M), Windows 7.

Alternatively, you can also try to directly use the two files I edited, by downloading them from the links below, saving them with the appropriate filenames, and overwriting the originals.

I do not know if they will work for newer versions of NVIDIA drivers.
