Hi.

I've had my Acer Aspire 5951G for about a half year now.

Fans and everything are clean but it keeps crashing when i play certain games.

Here are the req specs for the game i am playing right now:

Minimum Specification:
CPU:Pentium4 2.4Ghz or Same level CPU
Memory:1GB
GPU:GeForce6600 or Same level Graphic Cards
Video Memory:128MB
Bandwidth:1Mb
Hard Drive:10G Free Space

Recommend Specification:
CPU:Pentium Dual-Core E6 Series or Same level CPU
Memory:2GB
GPU:GeForce9600GT or Higher Level Graphic Cards
Video Memory:512MB
Bandwidth:2Mb
Hard Drive:10G Free Space

My system should far above those specs and yet the temperature of the cpu is around 75+- while playing this game.

Ow and the systems normal temp is around 46 while browsing the web and stuff.

Help PLEAAAAASSE!!!

    Good day

    1. Make sure you have the correct charger used....you should be using a 90Watts.

    2. Take the machine in for warranty repairs if it stilll within a year from date of purchase.

    Regards,

    Hi

I have that same model and found that in the first few months from purchase it worked perfectly fine. I play the same games i played initially except now it overheats and shuts down, the keyboard and area around the fan outlet gets extremely hot and causes it to shut down.

have you found any solutions since you posted this?

My 5951 does the same thing, and after 12mths too. It is clean, no dust, so is this a fault or could it be caused by an update of Bios? Wonder if ACER are aware of a problem/fix.
