I bought a new notebook today and have to get rid of the terrible windows 8, i first tried to boot it from a windows 7 usb stick but it didnt get recognized in BIOS, then i made a win 7 DVD and got the same problem.

They both work and i can start them from windows 8 but there i cant format/partition the way i want.

I've tried all different orders in the boot menu but they just wont boot.

Thanks

Have you turned off secure boot in the bios?

OK! i just had some sucess... put the bios in "Legacy Mode"

this unlocks a few more features and doesn't make this thing a ***... i am installing Win 7 now from the DVD.... no issues yet... it also made all my USB devices visible in the boot menu!
