Liquid Z3 (Z130) failed after update

Hi All

I got OTA update this saturday, applied it and it failed half way (maybe a bot more that half way).

Now phone boots and display acer logs but after that it just blank.

 

Power button nor volume rockers do not work - no activity.

I can go into recovery more or fastboot but that's it.

 

There is no update.zip file on acer support bage to sideload update.

 

can anyone help ?

this is dual sim version of Z3 sim free.

android 4.3 or 4.4

No clue what update it was but I don't think it was 4.3.

Hi there is solution for my problem

 

Go to http://goo.gl/yi3eqy and download file and unpack it to have system.img.

Then download adb/fastboot files (google for it - easy to locate).

Put fastboot and system.img in the same folder.

Run command line and go to folder with above files.

 

Power down phone and then remove battery for 5-10 seconds.

Then press volume up and power for couple of seconds untill You see menu with option to boot into recovery, fastboot or normal. Volume up is to move and volume down to select.

Please select fastboot option and connect phone to your pc or laptop.

(I'm assuming you have drivers installed already).

 

In commandline run:

fastboot devices - this should give you information about the phone, means that there is communication between fastboot and phone.

then run

fastboot flash system system.img -u

 

and after around minute or so phone will be flashed and you can reboot it into android.

Upon first boot phone will be in Thai language but you can change it to english.

And then use NoBloat free (http://goo.gl/I0z5oW) to remove unwanted stuff from Thai mobile operator and you are good to go.

What android u have now? 4.3 or 4.4? or still 4.2?

And was an official update from acer or custom rom?

Now I have 4.2.2

Acer_AV052_Z130_1.004.00_AAP_AIS

 

I wish we could upgrade to 4.4 as KitKat is better with devices with only 512Mb of ram.

I guess the suggest went into the trash bin yes?

 

why can't we have 4.4 now? I have pressed system update several days... why does the OTA take so long?

 

or why can you not put it up on your server so we can download it and update ourselves...not everyone is a newbie to this...

hey i follow the instruction correctly and actually im now using the thai version...,, now my question is what if i want to use the original version how am i able to flash it?
