Aspire One keyboard has stopped working.

Hi,

My aspire One netbook has suddenly developed a problem. The mouse pad works fine including mouse pad buttons and double click etc but as soon as you press any keys on the keyboard everything freezes. the only way to get control back is to press and hold the power button to power off then restart. I have had a trawl around the net and have tried removing the battery and pressing the start button for 60 seconds, pressing the f8 key during start up ( the keyboard seems to work fine then) and restoring it to defaults, I have tried system restore to a time before the problem but nothing seems to work. Is is a problem with the bios or the registry or something else? Any help gratefully recieved.

Do a bios update to the latest bios and also reload the machine to factory default and see how it goes.
