Password entry screen not functioning - Acer Aspire V5 - Windows 8

I have started my laptop, and reached the password entry screen, but I cannot login.
I'm on an Acer Aspire V5-571 running Windows 8
The cursor is not in the password field.
I can move my cursor, but can't click on anything, nor in the password field.
The keyboard is working because I can use Fn key to disable / enable the touchpad.
Ctrl Alt Del does nothing, nor if I press it twice.
Cannot click on the power icon, access icon, or back button, or enter button.
Enter key does nothing.

I have no disks as came installed.

Have you any suggestions?

    All fixed. Took out battery, restarted without, shut down, battery in, restart. Sorted.
