Really like my new S7... except for Acer customer service and issues w/ bluetooth crashing the computer. No issues w/8.0, but updated to 8.1 and had crashes. Started w/ occasional issues and progressed. So bad I couldn't start my computer - stuck in blue screen-restart-blue screen-restart-blue screen cycle. Finally sent it back (at my mailing cost...come on Acer, it's a expensive computer and you can't spring for postage?). Acer Tech Service turned it around in three days, kudos. Turns out all they did was restore the factory image and send it back. So I updated to 8.1 again and the trouble started. Microsoft was and is very helpful about this. (Yes, that Microsoft!)
I dug into the Event Logs and found the issues are all related to Bluetooth conflicts. As soon as I disabled Bluetooth, no more problems.
So, Acer, here's my complaint... why didn't you look at the Event Logs and let me know the problem was 8.1/Bluetooth conflicts and I'd have the same problems as soon as I updated to 8.1? My S7 is running an Intel Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + HS Adapter with a 3.0.1304.338 driver date 4/14/2013. There is no update at Intel's website. Am I the only one with this problem? And Acer won't help because it's a software issue. Come on, without customers providing input so you can deal with Intel, your machines wouldn't sell because of unresolved problems. We're the reason you are in business. At least act like we matter...
Any work-around so I can use my Bluetooth service for my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and Bose Soundlink Mini? I'd gladly use a nano-transmitter but it takes up one of two USB ports. Oh yeah, there's Acer's proprietary port... You can use it with an adapter that Acer charges $45 for... swell. I went ahead and bought one.
But I do like the S7....
