Acer V3-772g Screen issue

Hello everyone, I have encountered a strange problem with my Acer V3-772g. It seems that the screen 'flickers' with bars moving across the screen.

While majority of the times it's not noticable with the naked eye. In certain situations the problem can be quite apparent and does strain my eyes a little.

Through the lens of a camera it becomes completely visible, and with comparison with videos and pictures I have seen of it I can conclude that it's defintely abnormal.

I have tried many attempts to fix this, such as installing latest drivers, restoring the notebook back to factory setting and even updating the BIOS. However none of them seem to have an effect.

I have, however, found that when booting in Safe Mode the flickering does not occur.

If anybody can give me any suggestions I would be very grateful.

Thank you.

    Hi p1f1313

Then it appears to be a faulty connection from the motherboard to the screen. Acer's support is worldwide, so support should still be able to help.

    Hi p1f1313!

If the graphics are OK in safe mode, there may be an issue with the driver or the graphics itself, but as you've updated your driver to no avail, it may be an hardware issue. Have you tried connecting your laptop to an external monitor to see if the problem persists?

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact Acer support for your region to see if they can help. If it is out of warranty, try your local PC store.

    Good Luck!

    Hello finlux,

First of all, thank you for your response. I have actually tried to use an external monitor, and indeed the problem does not appear.

My laptop is still under warranty, but i'm currently not in the same country as where I purchased this laptop.

I will still give Acer support a try, and thank you for your suggestions!
