Hi all,

I've wiped my system and done a fresh clean install on Windows 8 then upgraded to 8.1

All the drivers on Acer site have been loaded and work fine in both Windows 8 and 8.1

There are no issues with any of the devices in device manager.

My only problem is the screen rotate/orientation hotkey doesn't work (Fn + O)

Luckily I'm able to still rotate the screen up and down using Intel's hotkey of Ctr + Alt + Up/Down.

Does anyone know how to get the Acer hotkey (Fn + O) working? Is there a specific driver or setting?

It's a real shame that I can't use the full 90/180/270 orientation that Acer promote as one of the features of the S7.

Acer - please help.

(before anyone says, no I can't do a system restore of Acer's recovery as I wiped the hard drive completely to free up all the space due to it only being 128gb)

  • I believe you may need 'Launch Manager' installed and working.
If you don't have it, download and install.

Also check that it is being loaded at startup:

Click Start and, in search field, enter 'msconfig'

    Click 'msconfig.exe'
Select 'Startup' tab and confirm 'Launch Manager' is in the list and that it is checked.

    Thank you very much!!

    That solved my problem.

I had reinstalled all th Acer Drivers, but completely forgot the Acer Applications to download too.

Installed Launch Manager - now the orientation hotkey works perfectly again!

    Thanks
