black screen

Hello, I have been using an Acer Aspire 5552-5619 for just about a year and a half. Today was the first time I have used it unplugged from a charger and the battery depleted 100%. I plugged the charger in, it has been in for a few hours, the lights are on that indicate that it was being charged and the computer is running (the power turns on when I press it and I can hear everything running). The problem I have is that there is nothing but a black screen displaying.

I have looked into the problem and found a bunch of BIOS stuff that is very complicated to me. Others say that it may be a monitor problem. The only monitor connection I have is HDMI and it is unable to pick up a signal. So please help.

Good day

Try standard external display which is VGA. If you cannot get display on external monitor using VGA connection, then you need to replace the mainboard.
