Hi for everyone!
My Iconia W700 make me crazy, because wont see my USB DVD. In windows settings, where is Devices section, DVD is visible as "External". And so what ? In "This Computer" i can't see this drive... When i try boot from dvd, after change boot priority in UEFI, to USB DVD first i see ugly blue window after reebot with text "System doesn't have any USB boot option. Please select other boot option in Boot Manager menu". I try this with secure boot, and without. Results its the same, a can't boot from dvd, boot menu see only my SSD.
What i may do ? I need USB DVD for my work...
Sorry for my badly English Smiley Happy

    Hi Buras.

Does your USB DVD player have it's own power? The W700 doesn't have very much power on the USB port, so if the DVD doesn't supply it's own power it might not work.

External drives work with the dock if not on the unit itself.

The W700 dock (which doesn't come with all models, I think most are shipping with keyboard folios now) doesn't have it's own battery, so doesn't provide any more power than the regular USB port.

correct, no battery however it may be wired directly while in the 700 the usb may not be -- do not know.  I would think a drive would work on the unit but have not tried it.

Just went to the office and I have a single wire single usb jack on it and it works fine from the units usb port.

My DVD drive is without external power supply. Is a Asus SBC-06D2X-U Bluray combo. I try connect this drive directly to Iconia (with connected power supply, of course), via cradle, and with USB 3.0 hub with external power supply... Every configuration doesn't work for me :/

Interesting is fact, that Win8.1 see this drive as "External" in Devices menu after connect, but in My Computer is only my SSD... I'm very confused about this, and don't have any ideas ...
