G5900 Predator No eRecovery

I purchased a G5900 Predator and failed to make a system restore disk because I was told Acer had an eRecovery partition on the HD. When I attempted to use this though, it says that some or all of the files are corrupt or missing. It did not come with a Windows CD. The Acer.ca store does not offer a Recovery disk and the Acer. com store only ships to the US. How do I format my computer without buying a new copy of Windows? Thanks!

    Hi Kitten002!

It is a shame you didn't make recovery disks. They are used if the hard drive fails, so you can re-install Windows with it!

It sounds as if your eRecovery program is corrupt. It's crazy that Acer do not supply Recovery disks to Canada. Do you have friends/family in the US who can perhaps order the Recovery disks, then send them to you?

No, unfortunately I do not.. I thought it awfully odd too, since they are a very well known brand in Canada. I have had a few computer shops offer to make me a recovery disk - but I can do that myself - it would just be useless to me this far in the game since it's also going to recover all the junk I'm looking to get rid of!

The only other thing to do is to buy a Windows disk and install that.

You will also need, beforehand, to download all the drivers for your model, so that when Windows has installed, you can then install them.

I called ACER and they will ship a Recovery disk to Canada, but only if you order over the phone. So if you run into anyone with the same issue, let them know Smiley Very Happy
I think I have a friend who will lend me their copy, since I do have my own product key. Hopefully they pull through. I'm not itching to spend that much money on a format.
