V3-571 Win7 does not boot... PLEASE HELP!

Hi all,

I need your help with a issue with my V3. I ran the recovery process all went smooth I let the process complete without any issues.

I switched the laptop off and then (all hell broke loose on me) it simply does not move ahead after displaying the Acer logo and the option of F2 & F12, then the cursor keeps blinking on the top left side.

I inserted the backup disc that I had burned and using the CD I was given the options to recover, check for issues etc etc one of them was restore to factory settings. Well after it goes its work well that’s the sad bit nothing happens. The cursor simply continues to blink on the top left side.

Any assistance to help fix the issue will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi vishalkapatkar!

Have you tried running startup repair? (F8 when you see the Acer logo, "Repair your Computer" then click "Startup Repair")

If this fails, it may be a hard drive problem. The only other option would be to replace the drive, & reinstall Windows from your recovery disks. While you're there, it will be worth checking that your RAM is seated correctly too.

My V3-571 shipped with Linpus Linux distribution without graphic interface and in the recovery partition I had a copy of it. Probably this is the case with you - you deleted your windows and now you have Linpus. Try writing something - ls for example and see if something happens Smiley Happy

    Hi Finlux,

I tried what you suggested for the RAM I even removed it frm the slot and put them back but nothing Smiley Tongue

I did run with the Repair Disc & it shows there is a installaion of Win7 & all then

    Photo1

when I hit enter get the following options (see Pic below) So far I have tried the first two options & the last.

for the last option it does show Restore in Progress & once done it shows all ok & restarts. But after the restart nothing happens its back to square one of the cursor blinking. Smiley Sad

    Hi again!

Unfortunately, the pictures you've supplied, fail to show up in your post Smiley Sad

However, I still think there may be an actual problem with the hard drive (if not the hard drive controller).

Have you changed any settings in BIOS? If you have, undo them (or choose the reset defaults option) and try again.

If things are STILL the same, I'd suggest a replacement hard drive & to install Windows on that. There is always the fact that the motherboard will be at fault, but it is a case of Trial & Error, I'm afraid!
