Dear Members,

First of all. Thank you for welcoming me to this forum as a new member! I am glad to be helped and if I also can help someone it would be nice Smiley Happy

I have an Acer Aspire 5742G and bought it last year new from the store. Now I have been having this problem. The notebook works fine, but from time to time it just goes off by itself! Very strange. I have put an original windows 8 on it, emptied the harddisk etc... nothing helped. Sometimes it stays on for at least 30 minutes but than it again goes off by itself.

Hopefully someone could help me out with this problem.

Thank you,

Saber Smiley Happy

    Hi saber1981

Perhaps your laptop is overheating? It is common for them to shutdown when hot.

Try using your laptop on a surface, like a table, and not your lap or even on soft furnishings. It may be worth buying a can of compressed air, to help blow out any dust on fans or vents, as this will make it overheat.
