Help.....  it says "diagnosing problrms" then "attempting repairs" when I power on.  Then reboots itself over and over.  I can get into bios srtup with the delete key, but that's all.

How can I enter reset/restore mode during bootup??  possible??  maybe I need to rebuild from CD/DVD nedia?

    Hi boowho!

What version of Windows are you running?

Can you boot into Safe Mode? If so, it may be a driver or software problem. Have you recently installed any new programs or drivers?

Do you get any error messages?

If you want to enter reset mode, I.E. restore your computer from scratch, then restart your machine & when you see the Acer logo press ALT & F10 - this will enter the eRecovery mode. Just remember this can erase your documents too.

Thanks......  Tried ALT + F10 as you suggested.

It's now going immediately to a blue screen that simply says Recovery Required with and error code 0XC0000034.

It further says that the I MUST recover the computer from CD/DVD.   It's only a week old so I think I'll take it back to Best Buy for a replacement.

Acer wants $20 for recovery CD/DVD;  I MAY try that first.  If I take it back to BB the FIRST thing I'll do is make the recovery disks myself.

    Hi boowho

If it is still under warranty, then yes, definately take it back.

Thanks.....  Yes, returned it to Best Buy and the replacement is working fine.

Have imaged the entire drive to avoid the same problem again.

Yes it worked out......  BUT I had already upgraded the original 5600 to Win 8.1.  I cleverly (I thought) saved all the update files for possible laater use some day.

However, the update refuses to re-install on the replaced machine without a key.  I tried the key for the original machine as well the replaced one;  neither will work.    bunner!!    I guess I could try re-downloading from the store, but my bandwidth is limited and I hate to chew up another 3GB, when the files are already on my HD.
