Aspire M7721: Problem with drives in front-accessible tool-less HDD bays after Windows 8 upgrade.

The two extra drives (WD Green 2.0Tb) worked perfectly on the original Windows 7 OS but now that I have upgraded to Windows 8, one, or both drives run continuously at 100%, while not actually being accessed, which almost freezes the system speed.

Is there anything I can do, or I do I have to wait until a future OS update fixes this problem?

Supported Windows 8 Upgrade systems are available on this page:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows-upgrade-offer

The Aspire M7721 system is not listed on that page.

We are unable to provide drivers or assistance with issues arising from the installation of another operating system or with additional third party hardware.

I can only suggest that you contact Western Digital to see if they are able to assist with long spin times under Windows 8 and offer a solution.
