Deleting HDD and SSD Factory partitions

recently purchased an Acer Aspire V7-581P with Windows 8. Are several partitions on the HDD and I would like to know the consequences of deleting the partitions to create my own customized ones. The partitions are as follows:

HDD
444 GB Primary Partition (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump)
400 MB Recovery Partition
350 MB Recovery Partition
16 GB Recovery Partition
300 MB EFI Partition

SSD
7.49 GB Primary Partition
14.5 GB Primary Partition

I would like to know if I can delete/merge ( I know how to, I just want to know if I am going to mess anything up) these partitions on each the HDD and SSD, Also I have updated to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 and am receiving the same error others have : Secure Boot Not Configured Build 9600, and was wondering if the OS update installed on the HDD instead of the SSD and this could be the problem.

  • All present partitions are there for a purpose and deleting or modifying them would almost certainly lead to major problems or worse.

Clearly there are issues even with your vanilla set up. I would hope Microsoft will resolve those eventually!

Unless you are intending to install a different OS, leave well(ish) alone. (Even then, there is a risk of locking the disk resulting in it becoming 'Frozen'.)
