I purchased my Acer from Walmart 7-15-2012.  I did not take it out of the box for a few months because I was finishing up some videos on my other computer before I gave it away.  When I turned it on, it beeped.  I called Walmart and they said that Acer needed to handle it.  I called Acer and could not get an answer.  I finally got a tech through live chat.  I was approved to send my Acer back to the factory.   I was going to back up anything that was not on my external drive and the computer went black and would not turn on.   My computer was in perfect physical condition.  When I got it back, I noticed scratches around the frame of the monitor.  On the repair sheet, their was a comment about scratches.  I knew this was wrong.  There was also a small indention in the monitor.  As I turned it on, I was shocked to see all my information was on the computer as it clearly states that my hard drive would be wiped.  When I tried to use it, I got a message from windows stating that my software was conterfeit and anything associated such as my antiviirus would be disabled in thirty days.  I think my information was transferred to another laptop and windows cannot identify the SN etc.  This is why it has scratches.  Now what do I do?

Without knowing what specific model or operating system you are referring to it is difficult to troubleshoot the issue, if you could provide it for us.
