Acer Update compatability issue

Hi I was wondering if Acer plan to distribute the kitkat 4.4 build for my device. We are a little behind in updates since the hardware specs don't match up and other reasons not allowing the update to happen, however, Google have stated that they are trying to make 4.4 KitKat widely universal so "old" devices can update to it. This meaning that they are making it support devices with lower capabilities which is all the more reason for Acer to pursue this and revive the A500.

I am extremely happy with my tablet runs mint from when I purchased it in August 2011 in my opinion the best tablet at the time without the $700 price tag Google are laying the bait for the update for devices like ours left for dead. It would definitely show acers increasing care for customer wellbeing.

On top of everything I believe Acer don't make any major modifications to the stock android like Samsung's touchwiz as an example so it won't be much more than a porting issue for the development team to give us the update. Please consider this!

On behalf of all A500 owners we would be very grateful for Acer to give us an update.

I asked about O/S updates recently.

    - didn't receive a single reply from Product Experts, Moderators or super-users.

I'm convinced that Acer loses interest in customers soon after the purchase.

The information that I have is that the A500 and A501 will not be getting any additional OS updates.

If I were to make a guess I'd guess that they don't want to put the resources into porting an updated OS for an old product when they can take those same resources and make a new product instead. It's a lot of work to update the OS for an Android platform.

I completely understand that! I just think that it would be nice to have it we last got one in 2012 I believe. I thought it would be a good idea for Acer to take advantage of Google's aim to make the new Android work on older devices and keep everyone happy.

It just blows my mind that Acer would want to [edited to comply with guidelines]some of their few loyal customers. I recommended this tablet tho several friends who perchased them from my recommendations of Acer products. If they are no longer going to provide updates, for the loyal users, I see no reason evry recommending or buying anything new from Acer
