aspire one zg5 - loose jack connection?

Hi all,

I have an acer aspire netbook (zg5) and I'm having a problem with the power connection.  It still charges but if the plug is moved slightly, it will disconnect.  To keep it charging, I would have to spin it a little until it makes the connection again and keep it that way.

Is there a way I can fix this on my own (buying small parts if need be)?  It would be pointless to spend the money on a computer tech when I could get a new machine.  It's rather lightly used but perhaps roughly used by someone else more recently.  I'd like to keep it working if possible, though not if it's going to cost too much money!

Thank you!

The connection for the power jack is not something that I can recommend repairing yourself.  It would be easier to just replace the mainboard for the system.

Where can I find information on the model ZG5?

The Aspire One systems labeled with the model ZG5 are actually an Aspire One AOA110 or an Aspire One AOA150. Any information will be listed under AOA110 and AOA150, rather than ZG5.

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.
