Does the cable work with other devices ? What make/model is the TV ? (I may have something similar here)

Sometimes TVs are a little picky as to who is powered up first. Try it each way, plugging in the cable then powering each up in different order.

Just a dumb though but was the TV set to the HDMI input first ?

I haven't had any trouble with HDMI connections either direct or through a VGA converter.

I bought a cheapo HDMI cable from that auction bay and it seems to work well.  Actually both a male to male cable as well as an adapter type cable (goes to female full size HDMI) work just fine.  Once you plug it in, screen just turns on (i.e. no need to change anything in Win to turn on secondary display, but you can after to change options).  Thought you might want to know...

Maybe try plugging it in harder at the tablet end?  As mine went in with a bit of force... hmm what did I just say Smiley Frustrated

Unplugged micro adapter and replugged it on to the cable and it started working! Thanks for the help everyone!
