hi, I had a bad sector with my 640gb HDD and can't boot the OS properly. Now I only have 500gb HDD and installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Now i can't connect to a wifi network but the drivers are installed and says "working properly" in the device manager. i've downloaded many latest drivers yet i still can't connect to a wifi right now I'm using Qualcomm Atheros AR5B97 wireless network adapter #6 and even though the wifi is turned on in the launch manager, the wifi light is still off. When I used the windows troubleshooter, it detected that "Wireless capability is turned off" even i though i turned it on in the launch manager nad also "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken" and with the intel wifi application from the resource cd, it says that no network adapter was found. Has anyone experienced this problem? Please I really need help with this it would really uplift my faith with acer... thank you

It sounds very much like you need to use the Recovery media for your system instead of a retail OS.

There are multiple ways to reinstall the factory operating system.

We highly recommend creating recovery media when you first receive the system.

If you do not have or did not create the recovery media, you can check the Acer Store to see if they have media available for your system.  This will vary by region.
