Extensa 5230e replacement OS or recovery disk / CD

Hi,

I have an Extensa 5230e laptop and the hard drive recently died.  I am attempting to reinstall using a different hard drive, but this obviously removes the 'recovery partition' option.  I do not see an option anywhere on the site for downloading or ordering a recovery disk or CD or any other similar option.

What options are available for situations like this, when the recovery partition is inaccessible?

Thanks,

DM

    Hi dmcdan!

Did you make the recovery disks when you first had your laptop? If so, use these disks to install Windows on to your new hard drive.

If not, try here to see if Acer can supply one for your model.

Final option, buy a new version of Windows, from the likes of Amazon, eBuyer, or even your local pc store and install that on your laptop. Drivers can be found here, just make sure to enter your model and select the correct OS. A good idea would be to download all the drivers first, on to a HDD or Memory Stick, so when you've installed Windows, you can immediately add all the drivers!

Thank you for this, finlux -- I did eventually find the recovery CDs for sale on USA site acer.custhelp.com based on your links below.  Only $20, so not bad at all.
