Low Memory

Wonder if anyone can help me? I have an Acer 5600U all-in-one. If I leave it on for a few days it starts to give me low memory messages, then the screen resolution goes funny  and I have to turn the machine off and on a few times to get it to work again.  I have Norton running on it and a diary/accounts software programme (which has never caused me a problem on previous computers) I don't have many photos and a few short video clips, nothing that should be too memory hungry. . I have been told there may be a memory leak but can't find a programme that consistently appears to be memory hungry. Is there anyone out there who can walk me through how to fix this? Many thanks for looking.

I believe that whoever stated that you may have a program causing the issue is correct.  If the system stays on for several days without the issue, then it is most likely a piece of software that is taking more and more memory.

You can look in Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESC) to see what is running on the system.

I would suggest sorting by 'Memory'.

You will be able to monitor which programs are utilizing large amounts of memory.

This may help indicate which programs are using more than normal amounts.
