Will recovery CD's restore BIOS?

I need to restore my BIOS to the factory shipped version, and everything else.

I updated my BIOS and now the 16GB RAM won't work for my laptop, but will work for others -- same EXACT model.

Will the recovery DVD's restore the BIOS?

    Hi rowebil!

No, your recovery DVD's will not restore the bios. All they will do, is to allow you to re-install or repair Windows. However, if all that you mean by "updated my Bios" is that you've changed settings, you can restore them:

Enter Bios, highlight "Load Optimised Defaults" & press F10 to save. (NB. Your Bios settings may differ slightly)

If you mean, you've flashed your Bios with an updated version, this is more tricky. Some PC's have a "backup" of the original Bios that you can restore from. You will need to check your user guide/settings for this.

You should be able to flash or downgrade your new Bios to the old one, providing you know which version it was. This should return your laptop to how it was. Flashing Bios always carries risks, and do so with caution.

Also, are your sure some of your RAM has not become dislodged?
